Membership

Membership is available to Ltd Companies, Small firms and Sole traders, trading in the building or allied trades industry.

You will be required to agree our standards and vetting process and will be asked for customer references. An interview will also be required.

Fees.

Registration fee is £35.00 one off payment. To be sent with initial application form.

Annual fees.

Associate member £120 (Start ups and New Business)

This includes full certificate, accreditation listing, use of our logo and vehicle advertising material.

We require a completed registration form, to proceed with the accreditation. No third parties will be contacted without your prior permission.

Affiliated member £180 (Minimum 3 years trading)

All of the associate member services plus a litigation service for customer disputes and non payment of invoices. In addition you can advertise on our web site and all enquirers will be passed on to you.

Standards required.

  • Keep appointments and arrive on time, keeping customers advised at all times.
  • Be realistic about start and completion dates.
  • Be Courteous and respectful at all times and return phone messages promptly.
  • Create variations orders from the original agreement, signed by both parties.
  • Deal with complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Never be verbally or physically abusive or threatening to a customer in any way.
  • Ensure honesty and trust in all dealings with your customer.

We take a realistic approach to all works and understand that some works are agreed verbally, without excessive paperwork, this usually relates to maintenance works. The important factor is to meet all the requirements as would be expected by a customer in relation to the works required.

We run strict background checks on tradespeople before they can become members.

You must agree to this when completing the form which is regarded as acceptance and agreement to our standards. No person/s will be contacted without your approval.

Upon receipt you will be contacted by us for further information. Non refundable Registration fee is payable. Payment by cheque to BATA Ltd is acceptable or please contact us for BACS details. Balance due if application is successful. Membership is annual from 1st January, initial membership is paid on a pro rata basis.
